H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait Paid a Call to Japanese Senior Vice Minister of Education: Further Enhancement of Student Exchange Encouraged
H.E. Mr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Otaibi, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Japan paid a working visit to H.E. Mr. Teru Fukui, Senior Vice Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, at his office in the Ministry. Mr. Mohammad Alothman, Third Secretary accompanied the Ambassador.
Ambassador Mr. Al-Otaibi appreciated Senior Vice Minister Mr. Fukui for his sparing his precious time despite of the Diet deliberations, and extended his praise to the Japanese educational system as the advanced country of education. H.E. Mr. Fukui welcomed the Ambassador and explained the educational reform initiated by H.E. Mr. Hakubun Shimomura, the Minister, to revitalize the system to meet with the global and contemporary requirements.
Ambassador Mr. Al-Otaibi then praised the past history of friendship between the State of Kuwait and Japan and sought for means of expanding students exchange programs at the university and graduate school levels. Senior Vice Minister H.E. Mr. Fukui answered that this has been common concern for years. The both sides agreed upon the necessity of creating certain mechanism of increasing numbers of Kuwaiti students in Japan and establishing channels at the working level.
Lastly, both the Ambassador and the Senior Vice Minister renewed their determination to seek for deepening contacts at their level as well for promotion of educational exchange and science and technology cooperation.
